Gather at Washington Square for a rally to demand that New York's political leaders act now to stop global warming. Bring banners, signs, flags, costumes and other eye-catching displays to help the rally get good coverage in the mass media. As of October 30, Rep. Yvette Clarke, Rep. Anthony Weiner and Lieutenant Governor David Paterson have confirmed that they will attend the rally. The environment should be at the top of America's political agenda. In Presidential debates, the candidates should spend less time talking about illegal immigration and more time talking about environmental degradation.
